Shelter and Rescue Dogs

Rescue and Shelter DogsAdopting a shelter or rescue dog is a wonderful thing. These dogs are special.  They come from varied backgrounds and most of the time we have no knowledge of their history.

Rescue dogs can be fearful or overprotective of their food and other resources.  These issues can be overcome with proper (gradual) socialization and desensitization.

Initially these dogs may require special handling, but over time can become well adjusted and happy members of your family.  Positive reinforcement training is especially important for shelter or rescue dogs.
